To protect your health and safety, the water division is responsible for over 58 miles of water mains of all sizes. Except for emergencies, complete repair and maintenance are done on an ongoing basis or according to maintenance schedules. Broken water mains and sewers are repaired as quickly as possible. Residents are notified, door to door, when water main breaks occur or when the water will be turned off. Residents are usually not notified during night hours because most repairs are completed by morning. If you notice discolored water, run the water until it clears. Natural sediments in disturbed water lines cause water discoloration, but it is not harmful.
