During the winter months water main breaks occur more often. Broken water mains are repaired as quickly as possible. We will notify residents door to door when a break occurs or when the water will be turned off. Residents are usually not notified during night hours because most repairs are completed by morning. If you notice discolored water run the water until it clears. This discoloration is caused by natural sediments in disturbed water lines but it is not harmful. If there was any damage to your sprinkler system during the repair of a water main it will be repaired in the spring.
