Business Licenses

A business license is required by Section 10-19 of the City Code. Specifically, the code states that any person conducting any business, commercial, professional or service operation in any building or premises within the city shall make application for a business license. Businesses are permitted to operate in C-Commercial, RO-1 Restricted Office, and C2 High Intensity City Center, therefore Business Licenses are not issued in residential areas.

Business Licenses expire March 31st of each year and application renewals are automatically mailed the beginning of March each year. All business licenses shall be obtained on or before April 1st. It is the responsibility of the business owner to remit a business license application and fee in a timely manner.

Late renewals shall pay double fees up to April 15th. Failure to submit the second renewal application and late fee will result in enforcing penalties as provided by the City Code; i.e., Chapter 2, Administration, Article VIII, Municipal Civil Infractions.
