Polar Express
Grosse Pointe Woods residents and their guests are invited to take a ride on the GPW Polar Express exclusive holiday route (heated GPW Park Bus ride).
The Polar Express will leave the Community Center and take a tour of lighted houses throughout the Grosse Pointes while listening to the Polar Express Story on their way to the North Pole (Cook Schoolhouse).
Upon arrival at the North Pole, travelers will be treated to hot cocoa and holiday treats complete with visit with Santa.
Children are encouraged to wear pajamas to recreate the setting of the story.
Online reservation requests began Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 8:30 a.m.

2024 DEPARTURE SCHEDULE
Departure Location: Community Center at City Hall
Departure Times: December 5 - 21, Thursday - Sunday
Departure Times: 5:30 pm, 6:00 pm, 6:30 pm, 7:00 pm, 7:30 pm
Round Trip Fee: $10.00 per person
- Phone or walk-in reservation requests will not be accepted.
- Each bus holds 24 participants.
- Reservation requests must be made by the GPW resident residing at the household.
- There will be a limit of eight tickets per GPW household for the entire event.
