Lake Front Park Tennis & Pickleball Program
Tennis and Pickleball Lessons at the Lake Front Park!
Tennis and pickleball lessons are returning to Lake Front Park for 2024! Head tennis instructor Laura Digan and head pickleball instructor Ruben Ascencio are back for their thirdyear running the Lake Front Park tennis and pickleball lessons.
The Lake Front Park Tennis and Pickleball Program has grown every year since it began in Spring of 2021 and continues to be a very popular addition to our parks and recreation programs. This past Spring and Summer, we saw many returning and smiling faces and community friendships continue to grow as we strive to improve our skills. Many of our youth participants aim to try out for a middle school or high school tennis team and with dedication to this program, their future looks bright. Whatever the reason, we are staying fit, enjoying the fresh air outdoors, making new friends, and learning tennis — "The Sport that Lasts a Lifetime" — at our beautiful court facility at Lake Front Park. Please review our course selection online and join us on court as we wind down the outdoor tennis and pickleball season.
Tennis lessons are offered to various age groups and all levels of players from beginner through advanced. The program goal is to provide an organized recreational and social environment while encouraging students to play tennis with good sportsmanship.
Pickleball has been very popular sport throughout the USA. If you are interested in learning how to play in this fast growing family minded sport, we encourage you to sign up for our introduction class. Consider it a great way to exercise, make friends and learn this exciting new game. Two pickleball instructors will teach how to hit the ball properly, and understand the scoring and rules of the game.
This fall, we have added a new Match Play course for both Pickleball and Tennis players each Tuesday and Thursday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. Our new Match Play course is designed for more seasoned players and provides three reserved courts under the lights; on-site coaches; and the opportunity to compete as doubles teams in overall match play. We view this practice as a stepping stone for those who wish to participate in league play in the future.
